3 Ways To Diagnose And Fix Registry Errors
The Windows registry is a very important part of the Windows
operating system and if it gets cluttered or full of errors,
odds are you will have severe trouble doing anything if you are
lucky enough to get your computer to start at all. Each time you
alter your system the registry gets changed. After a while, it
will get cluttered with data that is corrupt or duplicate. This
can really slow down your PC and it will continue to get slower.
Here are 3 ways to diagnose and fix registry errors.
The first clue you have a problem in your registry is you will
get all kinds of errors. They could say “DLL”, “Active X”, or
Explorer followed by a series of numbers. If this happens, the
first thing you can do is to write that entire error message
down. Next, input that full message into a search engine and see
what results you get. Often, it will give you a way to fix it
yourself or it might recommend a program.
Another sign you have a registry problem is the dreaded blue
screen. If you ever see that blue screen full of numbers, odds
are it's your registry. You can write it all down and search it
to see what comes up but you will probably need a registry
cleaner to fix it properly.
If you all of a sudden find you can't get windows to start but
still have the option to boot in safe mode and such, you might
just want to cut your losses and just reformat your computer.
This is pretty drastic if you use it for business and don't want
to lose everything though. First try a normal reformat and if
that doesn't work, go ahead and restore to factory settings.
This is a real pain and will wipe out everything you have ever
done but sometimes it's your only option.
